Pre-Bath time with Nana

Sweet Baby

We have really enjoyed getting to know Caleb over the past couple of months. He is on a really good schedule right now, eating every 3-4 hours and sleeping great at night.  He is full of noises, which mostly consist of grunting! He has also started to coo at us which we love & he is smiling, which is our absolute FAVORITE!  We will sit there forever with him, doing whatever we can to make him smile! The best thing, though, is when he smiles unexpectedly! Caleb LOVES his bath time! He takes a bath every night at 9:30, then its a bottle and off to bed! Im pretty sure he knows this routine, because he is just as calm as can be through the whole process and goes right to sleep after the bottle! We've learned that he likes to take walks and go for rides in his car seat! He automatically falls asleep when you do either of the two! It is so easy for us to take him out in public, because he is so good!
We are loving Nebraska, and are beginning to decorate our living quarters:) Me and Marie went to walmart tonight to buy paint, and I cant wait to get started! Ill have to take before and after pictures, so you can see the transformation! There are things that we miss about Louisville--our jobs, Buck Run, and our friends--but we are really getting used to it out here and really enjoy being around family! We have started going to the E-Free church here and are excited about getting involved!
Well, I need sleep--I hope to post more soon (Marie is taking over baby duty tonight, so I had some time to write) It's great being with Marie and Al!! They have been wonderful and such a big help to us!! But let us not forget ALL of our family--you have all been so wonderful and extremely helpful! I dont know what we would do without you all!
Love you:)

From New Mexico to Nebraska

Because of the ice storm, I had the pleasure of traveling to NM to visit my parents for a little over a week! The visit was wonderful--me and Caleb really enjoyed spending time with Nana and Papa...and also being able to meet Carolyn and Don! We cant wait until we can go back down and visit them(hopefully soon)! ---Then it was off to Nebraska! Caleb did great on the plane trips by the way!! Gramma Marie was so excited to meet baby Caleb, and her and Grampa Al have loved hanging out with Caleb!! Gramma got to give him his bath the other night, and of course Caleb loved it! We're starting to get settled in here, I am decorating and loving it! I'll post some pictures of the place whenever we get it painted! But for now, here are some pics of Caleb(he's getting so big)! -Love you all

While He Naps...

I am learning to accomplish small things while our little man naps--like blogging.  Me and Caleb are currently in Bloomfield, NM visiting my parents.  Due to the big storm that passed through Louisville, our house was one of many that lost power--so we decided to stay warm and head to New Mexico for a short visit with my parents.  Although we just saw them a little over a week ago,  its still nice to visit with them as much as possible.  The plane rides were great, Caleb was such a trooper! We are having fun relaxing, and enjoying the sunshine! Today Caleb discovered tummy time! This was a wonderful discovery, and he looks so cute when he's laying on his little belly!
After this visit, on February 9th, we are headed to Kearney, NE--and this isn't for a visit.  Our family is moving to Nebraska!! It's a bittersweet move, because we have grown to love Louisville, and have made many wonderful friends there! But it will be good for us to be closer to family! I will enjoy hanging out with Marie--and learning to cook! And I'm sure all of the family out there will enjoy getting to know Caleb! Matt is going to finish school online, and will be done in December of '09! After that--well, we don't know! We will head where the Lord leads us!
As for being a mom...I love it! I'm not going to lie--those first few weeks were really hard on me! I went from getting 10 hours of sleep a night, to waking up every few hours to feed Caleb and change his diaper! He's been sleeping a little bit longer each night, and we're down to only 1 feeding in the middle of the night at about 3 am! He is a wonderful baby, and me and Matt love him so much! Matt likes to hang out with his little man when he gets home and thoroughly enjoys annoying him--which is something Caleb is just going to have to get used to! He's getting bigger everyday--although I don't know exactly how much he weighs, since we haven't been to his one month appointment yet--I venture to say he's almost 10 lbs!! He was on the wrong schedule for a little while, having his nights and days mixed up! But I think we've fixed that! Here are some pictures...I couldn't figure out how to post them below the text! :) Enjoy!
